The Meaning of Temenos

Temenos comes from the Greek word τέμενος (temenos), describing a safe, protected, and meaningful space. In a therapeutic context, temenos can be understood as a space where a person can feel accepted, build trust, and move through a process of growth and healing.

This meaning underpins Temenos’s practice today. Through therapy, developmental support, education, and collaboration with families and schools, Temenos seeks to offer a safe space to grow, respecting each individual’s uniqueness, needs, and process.
